I can’t believe how selfish some people can be… There is still a lot of exclusivity you SS members will enjoy: Recycle, 50 starcoins/day (compare to 40 for non-SS), you can exchange them whenever you want (not available for non-SS), you can sell your items (not the non-SS) and now even the non-SS will enable you to have more Stardollars by buying your items with their Stardollars, etc. Greed and selfishness are very bad personality traits. What does a wonderfull gift from Stardoll to the non-SS members (who are not so lucky as to have enough money to spend on this game as you do) take away from you? Instead we should all be happy for them and give a warm Thank You to the amazing Stardoll Team for this Generous and Noble gesture.

Mandy (NCgirl19), I see your point, but I’m sure they’re going to be adding more ss-only features soon enough to make up for this change. I personally love it. I think that if people have stardollars sitting there in their account, they should be able to use them. Once non-SS use all of their stardollars, though, they’ll have to buy more– thus, buying a superstar membership– in order to continue enjoying their benefits. So, when you think about it, this is probably a really good idea by Stardoll to rope more people into buying SS membership.
In any case they would be selfish (People of Stardoll) For want even more money. Now can be purchased from the famous Beach Villa, additional rooms to the penthouse. Yes, it’s unfair, do not know what you mean.

Yay! The only exclusive thing on stardoll now is your stardesign items, for months items paid for by other members have been given out totally free as gifts to others. I suggest you scrap the SS & Royalty membership to make stardoll a really fair gamesite for all (because I’m tired of all this nonsense). For years you have used people’s real money to develop & establish your website with cool new features everytime for everyone to enjoy like your online stories, dress by room, upgrading of your beauty parlour, free stardesigns, maintainance of your websites & stardoll offices now in a lot of countries etc. all these things don’t come cheap & have come at a price for some while others get it all for free & complain they want more. Those who pay nothing at all will always compare themselves to those who pay for it & expect those things to be given to them too. What you need to do now is make stardoll free for all & unlock every exclusive item you have encouraged people to pay for to develop your website & finally stop sending out offers for others to buy more stardollars. Some of your members have been fooled enough. I’m sick of all this nonsense, I’m sick of you using SS membership to develop your site to attract more members, you initially pretend these features are exclusive & later make it free for all, some people cannot be paying for services others pay nothing for, I’m sick of all the arguments (that you caused) it’s time to make stardoll free for all.

There are a lot of features on Stardoll enjoyed by everyone which will not be there if there were no funds for them & that recycling you said is a lie, I have been non-ss & have used the recycling bin many times. It in fact IS unfair to a certain point.
I’ve bought ss membership for the further year. Of course I did it so I would keep the Stardollar system and keep the privelegue to buy hotbuys, le, makeup, keep my rooms, facial features and all the cool stuff. But look at it now; nothing starplaza related seems to be superstar only anymore. It’s like you’re taking the pivilegue away from your most worthy members, Superstars. So what’s the point of the starcoin system now? The valut dualism is just a waste of idk what, tbh, but it’s a waste, definitely. I understand all you non-superstars are happy as fuck, but we others are like, hey, that’s not fair. We were paying to be somebody – now we’re paying just to go with the flow, to keep up our addiction I guess.
What will happen? The broadcast will be overflowing and promoting sales on there will be rather a waste of our time, as there will be those little girls broadcasting to check out their suite! Duhh. And there’s much more I could go on with, in fact, I dont have the time. Enjoy the well, new stardoll.

To the SS-members thinking this is so unfair… Your reaction in real life (on a bigger scale) would translate to something like this: “The very wealthy Guy Laliberté, Founder of Le Cirque du Soleil, decided to completely stop the activities of the One Drop Foundation (fighting for the right to drinkable water for evereyone) because he is so upset that only the rich ones are paying for the less fortunates. Never forget that a lot of non-SS members on Stardoll are less fortunate and simply can’t pay to play this game because there is just enough money in there family to pay for rent, clothes and food. I am sure that, given the choice, they would rather have the Superstar (and eventually Royalty title). Think of your SS membership as a nice sharing gesture, and be proud
Caroline this is not about non-ss or ss or about members using examples to compare each other, it is what stardoll created, it is what they promised, stardoll created that royalty club that really serves no purpose. I understand your point of view “???”. The Stardoll Superstar promise… But it didn’t disappear, it simply evolved into other kind of privileges…When I joined in 2009, the Startup Kit was not what it is now and there were no recycling bin (wich I am surprise non-ss can use, it must be a bug), no SS only facial traits and skin colors, etc… Should I get all upset because it changed? No. Stardoll being in constant evolution is a good thing in my point of view. And we should certainly not insult each other over this. I trust the Stardoll Team members are intelligent people and they would never level paying SS and non-SS. They know were it would lead.

The recycle kit is not a bug, it was available to all when starcoins was introduced & also more of my rooms were opened then & I even hear we can open more rooms now (mayb with more starpoints). Who created & locked the skin tones & facials? Who created all this divide? Stardoll did. You may trust & thank stardoll for their intelligence but they don’t pay for it they deceived people into paying for this. And some of those people have the right to be upset. Stardoll created all this stardoll is to blame & no one else.

This being said, you can see now that not everyone playing Stardoll do so in the comfort of their own homes, and I’m not talking about the ones in CPS’s where there is one computer for many users. And you are talking about spending money on an addiction. Being addicted is not a heatlhy playing habit. I guess we are all unique with each our own experiences and I would understand why you are angry. I personally don’t pay more than I can afford on this game and I always stand on my budget.

All this is about stardoll going against their word & promises so many times (they go back & forth). It is good to be nice & generous but not through deceit & at the expense of others. I’m sure caring & giving doesn’t include deceit. This is not about people being against each other (non-ss or ss), it’s about stardoll’s deceit to some of it’s members. Those complaining are the ones who paid for all this not stardoll why thank them? And I don’t see the point of the royalty club….oh wait that’s stardoll’s creation. Although I’m glad members rooms are being unlocked.
I understand people being upset about all this… Don’t get me wonrg here… What I don’t feel is that because of this, I, as a paying member, am loosing anything. Now, you are right about Royalty, it doesn’t give you anything special, you just become Royalty when you have been Superstar (meaning you have paid) for a while, talents you have shown or achievements (read: being somewhat active on Stardoll) and NO I am not naive enough to think everything is perfect. Everyone has the right to express their disapointment. However, I haven’t yet read anyone coming up with solutions or ideas about what Stardoll should do to satisfy everyone so that the gap between SS and non-SS privileges is re-enlarge to its original size, without taking back from the non-SS what had just been given to them.

i loved the change except one thing i HATED, it is now i cant exchange my stardollars because, i buy with my cell phone which gives2 weeks, and stardoll changed the exchange from starcoins to stardollars after month, so could it be at anytime or like it was before and leave the exchange up to 1000.

But honestly, they haven’t really gained anything.
Back before when the starcoining system was even invented, we were in the same exact situation.
You know like when you go shopping in real like? They’re like, “big sale! 50% off!” You get so excited, but honestly, don’t hardly save anything. They jack up the prices to lower it back down a bit and it makes you think that it’s like, some big event.
Non superstars were able to use stardollars in the past. Then the right was taken away from them, now they brought it back for them to use.
It was just like how it was before. Nothing too special.
They could only buy in the bazaar with the little stardollars they have saved up in the past. It’s not like they can buy things in the starplaza or anything.
I don’t see how it’s anything to be super excited about. It was just how it was a couple months ago, before the starcoining system was invented.

If you read carefully and stop just thinking about the Stardollars aspect of this change, you will realize that the SuperStar”doll” benefits are still not accessible to everyone and if I am not mistaken, only Superstars can eventually become Royalty (such as myself and so many others). Stardoll giving a little more to the non-SS doesn’t take anything away from you. Instead you should be happy for them. You don’t loose and you both gain a little.

Being Royalty, I have spent my share too on this game still I am happy for the non-SS. From what I understand, the point of this game for you is to separate as much as possible the Lucky Weathy and the Unfortunate Less Fortunate (I have written about this in previous comments, read above) and that you actually lost something in the change. i dislike this idea because it is unfair for us who are paying their subscriptions. What it is now for us paying members? Our designs will be less saleable because non paying members will be buying original brands plus the fact that there wiil be a lot of competition if we buy branded clothes. It is not being selfish or greedy but you can give non paying members a free superstar week or a once a week chance to be a superstar or a holiday superstar month but not giving them most of the priveleges that a paying member can do. It is ok if your site is free for all but remember you have superstars and royalties who are also not rich but trying to meet ends just to buy memberships. I think you should be fair for all. A lot of paying members will not be happy about this idea.
I partly agree with you, but if you can get free superstar week remember there are people who buy SS 2 weeks sometimes who wouldn’t bother anymore. Stardoll=confusion=Yoyo.com.

Non-ss even have a special payment system where they can buy more than the usual stardollars for a lesser price than normal without being SS & shop as they want. Everything is messed up.

I came here hoping to find more information, but it seems to me that your post is not clear and informative enough.
If by “Stardollars are available to everyone” you mean that ex-Superstars are now able to use their leftover Stardollars without needing to upgrade, then Stardollars are not really available to everyone–not available to ex-Superstars who don’t have leftover Stardollars and not available to anyone who has never been Superstar, which means that not much has changed and that there is really no “wonderfull [sic] gift from Stardoll to the non-SS members,” as Caroline puts it. Leftover Stardollars were paid for with real money, and it was not nice of Stardoll to have withheld Stardollars of expired memberships in the first place.
Or does it mean that non-Superstars are now able to buy Stardollars? That doesn’t make sense. So, non-Superstars don’t have money to pay membership but have money to buy Stardollars?
Yes ana it means that non-ss can now buy stardollars at a cheaper rate than normal. If you still don’t understand make a non-ss account & go to the payments page you will see special rate for non-ss against ss. And I’m sure they’ll reduce the rate even further. Then close or delete the account. It’s all confusing & weird.

If you read carefully, I specified that it doesn’t give you anything special… The reason I talked about this is because in order to have this status, we need to be Superstar (paying members) for months. And I did so because the main complaint was about the real money people spent on this game and the feeling that they wasted it because they feel evereyone has the same privileges. I wanted to specify this point to make people realize that there is some goods to get out of this when you pay, and not only for yourself but for non-SS as well. And if you felt I was bragging about this, it is your opinion. But I have one question: “Why do you talk about you “3″ Royalty accounts?” This, to me, seems a bit like bragging. Well I am a Royalty member who is actually happy to hear this. This whole system is a bit elitist in my opinion. I have non superstar friends and this has made them so excited. Not everyone has parents who will pay for superstar membership and remember that the majority of Stardoll members ARE teens and kids. Some of these attitudes unfortunately don’t surprise me though. I see it every day on here. Yes I have a diamond by my name. It isn’t status I want or ever wanted but to not be limited to what I can do on Stardoll. Now everyone gets the same opportunities. I get so tired of the selfishness and greed I see every day. This is our world though, sadly.
Sadly that’s not what this is about, it is about the fact a company has lied & cheated about this whole thing from the beginning. They created all this royalty, miss stardoll world etc. They said you could have more things if you paid for it, all this idea of pent houses, LE, designer clothes, beach hut was created by a company in return for a price from the very beginning. They created all these titles includiing the royalty club, little did they know that when they promise all these things others would become jealous & want exactly the same things even though they hardly contributed anything. No one is selfish or greedy apart from SD who keep promising all kinds of things & making all kinds of offers for more money. I don’t have as much as other members & don’t want as much as other members because I can’t afford it. I’ve never bought LE or all the other expensive items because I can’t afford it so why should I want it? Most of my suite furniture & all my clothes are bought during sale (which has been available to everyone for some months now). My rooms are locked regularly & I was recently able to have 4 unlocked because of my starpoints. Stardoll has expanded & is obviously being maintained but who pays the price? If stardoll wants to make everything fair then they should make everything free (like I-dress up) where nobody complains & updates are every 6 months or more. And I noticed that since stardoll made a similar decision last year a lot of people have either left, abandoned their accounts or stopped paying membership altogether because of all this deceit from the beginning. Most of the features & upgrading on their website are paid for by people which is enjoyed by everyone. There are new similar games now on facebook like mall world, fashion designer, cocogirl, ohmydollz etc. where to get certain services you have to pay for them. I never pay so why should I expect those services when I know I can’t afford it. This elitist society was created by a company who made promises & keeps going back on it’s word & this is not about selfishness & greed this is about Jealousy & deceit.
I understand both your points of view still I tend to agree more with Kara. Just keep in mind here that the only thing changing is “Stardollars available for everyone” yet non-SS will just be able to exchange their SC for SD once in a while. In my opinion, Stardoll is evolving into a less Elitist game. Let’s face it, you can’t create a “Good Karma Week” while separating people like they use to. I think they just wanted “to teach by exemple”. This site is beautifully growing into a place of moral values. While still giving some privileges to the paying members (allowing them to pay for the Designing Team, Techincal Support Team, Research Team, etc.) they want everyone to feel part of the Stardoll Family. As a paying member, I don’t feel they have done anything wrong, they are just evolving into something better. Anyone thinking otherwise should really think about What exactly did they loose in the process (nothing really), except maybe that the gap between statuses has lost few inches. So What? But like Kara said, sadly the real world works that way, there will always be greedy and selfish people who’s only happiness depends on How much more they have than the rest of the crowd. Fortunatly there are the others, those Who while they have more give without counting, they feel good making other people smile. Think about this will you…Please.

This change is really unfair to the superstars. Stardollars was made for superstars to get superstar-only items. We paid to get superstar-only items. It’s even more unfair to the superstars that bought extra stardollars. Now that everyone can get them, you don’t need a superstar to get superstar-only items.
This is a bad idea because:
1. Stardoll will lose money because Superstars can’t get superstar-only items. There is no need to get Superstar now unless you wanna be poplaur.
2. It’s not fair to the superstars. Obiviously it’s fair to the non-superstars, but if you’re gonna please anyone it should be the superstars. We paid for the game.
I just want to correct you on something here: Stardollars were not created for Superstars, they were there at the very start of this game while the items in the stores were marked Superstars Only. The starcoins system appeared afterwards.

I think it’s fair. Superstars still have more stardollars because they bought them. Non-superstars don’t have that. They’ll have to use other ways to get more stardollars, unless they buy some and become superstar. And there are still benefits for superstars: we have more rooms, more hairstyles, fifty percent off sales. And I’m sure they’ll give more benefits to counteract they’re decision. Everyone seriously just needs to chill and quit being so selfish.

I have been a member for 4 years…. I have spent something like $600 US dollars on my membership and suite in that time because I love what I get from this website. Pure and simple I would want that for everyone! I don’t think that Stardoll being generous to non superstar members even remotely equals what you get with a membership! We have the right to complain & no one is complaining for nothing. I just have a few questions: How many of the people here saying they are SS & welcoming the idea are really SS? Why was the stardollars locked in the first place? That always made no sense. If non-ss would now buy stardollars what stopped them from buying before (because this has only been locked for a few months)? And if they can now get extra stardollars from completing tasks what also stopped them from initially doing this before (they could also have connected to facebook & got free credits=free stardollars too). Is this all as easy as it sounds will it change anything? I doubt it.

Firstly, thank you stardoll for opening up stardollars to everyone. Secondly, I am astounded at the degree of selfishness you girls display; I find your attitude extremely juvenile and petty. Stardoll was initially a free domain. Be grateful that you actually have access to a computer unlike some unfortunate girls in the world.
Its still fair. Superstars still get benefits, we are still able to access more looks and other things that the people on Stardoll that dont pay. It all workd out fine in the end. And I agree with Sam, think of all the little girls in the developing countries, wishing that they were able to play a game like this.

You guys, I just read through the first half of the comments and got bored because it was all quite repetitive, but here’s my two cents worth:
I think the change is actually aimed towards the paying members to benefit them… I’m royalty, but I’m too poor to pay it on my own and all my ss-membership has always been through gifts. So between these sets of ss, it kind of sucks to not have anything available, especially after all that work on your account. Really, the people who never pay get like 20 sd to start off with- once they spend it, it’s gone and they’re back to the basic starcoins. However, for people like me, the new change can help so if you have sd left over when ss expires you can still buy the things you want instead of having to wait until your next payday or whatever.
Non-paying members really only get the tiniest bit of help from this. Mainly I think it’s aimed to help paying ss and royalty for between periods of ss membership so that you’re not just stuck sitting there like all the regular non-ss. (BTW, idk if that sounds really discriminating, because I totally appreciate the non-ss, like I said I’m pretty poor… but still there is a distinction)
oi gente ou falar o que vejo do meu ponto de ista …sou superstar mas eu francamente acho um absurdo ficar comprando e pagando todo o mês eu simplesmente acho besteira gastar dinheiro só para botar em joguinho mas lá vez outra eu só boto 12 de credito mas nao pence que eu faço isso sempre,eu simplesmente penso e tenho para mim que minha doll come muito credito ou melhor come o meu dinheiro!

I am just happy we all get stardollars because it is benafitting us all by letting us experience more exclusive things first, being able to earn more stardollars, and also having more fun on the site (stardoll).

I agree that SS and royalty should get more for their work and money. I wish stardoll could just go back to its original design without starcoins and DKNY and all of that

I forgot to mention Why I think they did this. I think mainly because of the horrible economy right now in come parts of the world but I still think that they should give more benifits (I know it’s spelt wrong) to SS and royalty for actually paying in this time.
